I always try to shop local, support local. But, this shop makes that really hard with their inconsistent hours. I arrived at 12:15pm on a Saturday, eager to spend money, and they were closed. Even though they list on the website and on the door that they are open at noon. It's disappointing.

Excellent customer service! I came in with 2 pages of written questions, that represented all the unresolved questions about drums I'd ever had over the years: Hardware, types of woods, used on snares, varieties of woods & wood combos synthetic
materials, snare and tom heads, batters, types of coatings on the heads, techniques, positioning of toms and how to accomplish them, brands, types of pedals and everything drum- related.. accessories galore stick, brushes and related like rounds, jingle sticks, etc. He very patiently and thoroughly answered them all. Without realizing it, I'd finished up about an hour after closing time! I apologized. He said it was problem, he said he enjoys talking drums, and said he had as much fun as I did; that's why he's in business-to help people solve drumming-related problems. He received several calls while I was there, and didn't answer any. He deprioritized them for me. . I can't tell you how much I appreciated that. I bought some items and will definitely be back, once I decide on what to purchase. By the way, he let me play on everything I wanted while I was there. There was only one question ) out of about a hundred) he didn't know. He spent several minutes researching himself online, before giving me an answer. To me, this means, integrity and commitment to giving the customer a measured, true answer, rather than just saying an quick, off-the-cuff answer, just to shut me up. My experience here was stellar. I'd give it more than 5 stars, If I could!
One year later: parking is hard to find on Walnut, but I circled until I found one, wen in and got the same excellent service as before. I bought some more stuff. BTW, he has used drums. Too! Gives lessons to all levels and will customize lessons to customer's desires. Very cool.

This is an amazing store. Charley and Brian are very professional and very much interested in helping all customers. If you are new to drumming they will take time in finding out your needs. If you are knowledgeable they will make sure they can get what you need. They take custom orders. Lessons are also offered. Great inventory and personalized service. Having purchased equipment online and at Guitar Center before, these guys know a lot more about drums. This store is a precious gem in Mid Missouri.

Oh, man, what a pleasant surprise! In town for a festival and had some equipment issues. Brian there had me all hooked up and figured out in no time. Expert knowledge, prices were right, and super friendly service. I didn't get to check out the full inventory of drums and cymbals, but I will say I was impressed by what I did see at a glance - way bigger store than I expected for a small college town in Missouri. This is the best percussion store in town wether its looking for sticks or buying a kit. The staff is well informed, and more than willing to help find what your looking for. The employees were more than willing to answer any questions I held, and spent the time to explain them in depth. Trust me, for the amount of questions I asked, due to their diligence and kindness, I will only shop for supplies from Access Percussion. Not only do they have "the goods", they are also good people, genuine people, looking to help up-and-coming drummers.

Incredibly knowledgeable and nice folks and have already helped me a ton as I have gotten back into drumming again. About to head there this weekend to get some new heads fitted on and tuned. These guys are awesome! I could talk to them for hours about drumming and equipment.

Not expecting much upon walking in and was stunned to find this was a fully fledged drum store and walked out with a new starclassic bubinga kit which is absolutely amazing. Brian was an expert on all things percussion and could not have asked for a better experience. Good prices...great customer service and awesome selection from a store in a small college town...worth driving out from Kansas city or st.louis. A fantastic source for all of Missouri's drum needs. Charley is a fantastically knowledgeable fellow, and his customer service is top notch. I'm a musician, but pretty novice on the drum side of things, and know that Charley answers all questions, regardless how silly, with the utmost courtesy and respect. A+.
